We have come up with this blog to keep us all updated and in touch without the cost of printing off newsletters. We hope this will save us some money. You can leave us comments or suggestions (please keep them polite). If you have news you want to share let Kristina or Judi know in an email and we can post it up. Like new move ins, or new babies, if any are sick and need some help. Let us know. We will try our best to keep up on the news. We will also be putting links on here to all our rules and regulations.
This weather has been so fun. One day warm and sunny the next SNOW. What's up with that? Our cooler covers have been taken off, but they are not hooked up to the water yet. We have found that there are broken pipes in every building. So we are working on that. The fans are working though. If you are having issues with your swamp coolers, please let us know. You will get the first call after opening to repair free, but you will be charged for the cost of any parts that has to be replaced. We can get someone up there to fix it. Please do not try getting up on the roofs without permission. We don't want anyone falling off. For owners you will notice the traditional opening fee on your next bill.
Now that the snow is all gone (hopefully) we see all the trash that needs to be picked up. If we can all do our part and get out to make our place look good. I am going to get my kids out this week to clean up trash. Also make sure to check your front door for phonebooks or flyer's that might have gone into the flowerbeds. If you have a neighbor that can't get out very much, help them out by picking up around their area. If you are a smoker or have a smoker in your household, please place the butts in a container and empty it frequently. We have little kids all around that will pick the butts up.
We will be having another community improvement day coming up soon in May. We will let you know of the date. It was nice to see the turnout for the one we did in the fall to paint the fences. Hope we can see more out this time.
Remind your kids that balls are for the playground only, and that they should not be riding their bikes, scooters or skateboards in the driveways. I have to remind my kids all the time. We don't want any broken windows or kids hurt. Drivers, please slow down and use extreme caution around the buildings. There have been way to many kids hurt and killed by cars backing up in driveways recently in the news.
TIP: If you will put a container of Liquid Plumber down you tub/shower once in a while, it will save on backups from hair clogs. For the buildings on the west side, flush a half box of septic tank cleaner once a month and it will help keep the drains flowing. (you can find it in the grocery store by the bathroom cleaners.) We don't have the best plumbing/pipes in these buildings.
Our park is been a great gathering place when we have such nice weather. Here's just a few reminders that will help keep our park safe, fun and clean! (If you can go over the rules with your kids too)
1) Please show all of your neighbors common courtesies when sharing the playground.
2) This is a private park and only those who live in our four units and their guests are permitted to use the park. We have had a few isolated cases in the past of people who were not allowed in the playground under any circumstances. If you frequent the park and are having problems with kids or others, please give us a call and we can work on the problem.
3) The equipment is not to be moved. We've designed this area to be fun and safe. When items are moved it's difficult for the children to use and becomes an additional cost to us all to have it returned to proper order. If you see any of this type of abuse please let someone on the committee know. This is including moving the swings around or taking them down. We have put them back up and tightened them up so hopefully the kids can't get them down.
4) There is absolutely NO alcoholic consumption allowed in the common areas. This means all sideways, driveways and the entire playground area. We have found some remnants of this type of behavior in the park. If you witness this occurring please call us immediately so we can call the proper authorities.
5) The park is closed at dark. If you do see people there after dark, let us know.
We do have a couple of umbrellas with stands that you can use in the park or in the common areas in front. Please contact Kristina for the use of them.
We have some wonderful people living here. They watch out for others. I personally love my neighbors. They are so helpful. Get out there and meet your neighbors, we have a lot of new people in. Again if you have any suggestions that you want to see on the blog, email us. Thanks for all you do!
